Commissioned Vases for a Wedding Gift

Pair of coiled vases, matching... not matching! These were commissioned pieces for a wedding gift. I was asked to make a pair of vases that were neutral in colour yet earthy and with hints of nature.  I took inspiration from a local spot Merthyr Mawr, where woods lead to beautiful dunes and the beach. Waves are coiled into the design and I have made little intrusions into the clay hinting at ferns and shells. Finished in a subtle speckled glaze layered towards the top with a pale sage green.
